How we created BANIKI

BANIKI, a Brand founded by Nicole Kimpel, the companion of actor Antonio Banderas, and her twin sister, Barbara, it’s a story of fashion, women and friendship. In short, all the ingredients they love! It all started in Geneva, where Barbara and Nicole, of German and Dutch origin, lived for several years and where they regularly stay.

“Even though we’ve had a career in finance and real estate, we’ve always loved fashion, says Nicole. Together we did quite some modelling in the United States which was a very interesting experience and already opened the fashion world for us. With Barbara we had longed to launch our brand for some time now says Nicole.“

BANIKI, the brand whose name is the contraction of Barbara, Nicole and Kimpel, is constituted of multiple capsule collections, from handbags and clothing to divers accessories. We are very proud to present from our brand, our two first capsule collections:

A handbag line in collaboration with the brand “Be Kissed”.
And a clothing line in collaboration with the brand “Chabadabada”.
Both of them handmade in Italy by some of the finest artisans.

“Sharing with My sister the same values based on luxury craftsmanship prompted us to do those first capsule collections inspired by our way of life”, says Barbara.

For the handbag collection we have created timeless and easy-going bags as well as more chic day to day or evening bags without forgetting the “must have” comfortable totes as the best traveling companion. Our clothing line is a made out of the finest silk and cashmeres. Going from a daytime beach look to a more dressed up evening look for the silks, and of course the warm comfortable cashmeres that can also be dressed up with some nice heels.
